Surface Mail Letter with Bishop Mark 21/SE - 1786 - black/brown on cream 

The letter is in good used condition. 

When the letter was opened, a "tab" was torn away at the seal leaving a hole in the centre of the fully-opened sheet.
There is also some minor discoloration.

The letter was posted to Leek in Staffordshire. 

The original sheet was folded in half before the letter was written, then folded again before mailing.
Quite remarkable condition for its 237 years.

The fully opened sheet is 360mm x 226mm.

Note the Bishop Mark "21/SE" close to the seal.
