Art silk dates back to the 1890s and were developed using cellulose river and marketed as art silk or viscose. In 1924 the name of the fibre was officially changed in the US to Rayon. The term viscose is commonly used in Europe. Using Rayon or Viscose rather than cotton results in a beautiful shine to the panel. Made on original Victoria lace looms used for Nottingham
