This is a wonderful antique Royal Doulton collector’s display plate, part of a series ware collection.

It has a hand painted Australiana theme, featuring a 'Scene at Lorne', Victoria.

The scene is of the distant hills flanked by gum trees. The colours are vibrant eucalypts and shimmering blue-grey water.

Pattern: D5816

Year: 1930s (impressed with 1 31, probably January 1931)

Condition: Very good, has one small area rough to touch on the side. It feels like a manufacturing mark rather than a chip. No cracks.
