2012 FIJI DOUBLE TAKU 1OZ .999 SILVER PROOF GOLD GILDED COIN
The Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata bissa), locally named Taku, is one of two main turtle species of the South Pacific island nation of Fiji. It is one of the species of marine turtles that are listed as critically endangered.

This magnificent sea creature is the subject of New Zealand Mints latest coin issue.

Each coin is meticulously struck by New Zealand Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality accented with 24ct gold gilding.

New Zealand Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the 2012 Fiji Double Taku 1oz .999 Silver Proof Gold Gilded Coin.

DESIGN
The reverse design features two Hawksbill turtles (a mother and her baby), also known as the Taku, swimming along the ocean floor amidst tiny bubbles. Also featured are the inscriptions “FIJI TAKU” and “FINE SILVER .999 1OZ”.

The obverse of each coin depicts the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, TWO FIJIAN DOLLARS denomination and 2012 year-date.

PRESENTATION
The coin is housed in a unique ocean blue display case with a remarkable see through water filled lid, presented in a themed shipper accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
