These are from my private collection.  If you are reading this, you know who Lowry is.

I purchased them in early 2000s from a sale in "Sale, Manchester" and were sold to me as "School of Lowry".

They were originally being sold as one drawing only in a tatty frame (image on the left) but when I got home I extracted the sketch from the frame and discovered the second one hidden behind it (image on the right).  I then reframed them and hung them on the wall.

The image on the left is signed and behind the mount is the dated 1965 (pictured)  It is a sketch on art paper.

The image on the right is on school lined paper and has the Lowry monogram, it has faded due to age.

The frames still function fine but have a little damage, as pictured.  They are modern.

The paper used has the correct age to it and has aged as expected from the 1960s.  The mounts used have the correct age to it.  The masking tape used to attach the sketches to the mounts has aged as you would expect.  The signatures and style bares a strong resemblence to Lowry's.  He always signed in pencil.  During his life he often was asked to scribble onto pieces of scrap paper and numerous doodles appear online as authentic pieces.

Do your own research and make up your mind!  I have enjoyed them for many years and now it is time for someone else to.
