THE NAVAJO BEAR JEWEL

The Navajo Bear Jewel is a unique and original necklace of ethnic-tribal style created and painted by hand by Amira Munteanu Bergmann taking inspiration from the stylistic and aesthetic canons typical of the Indians of America belonging to the Navajo tribe.
The central body of the Bijoux is formed by a black support decorated in gold on which rests the head of a bear surmounted by a large blue crystal and followed by a decoration with various white elements in the shape of a grain of rice that somehow recall the feathers used by American Natives.
The top is adorned with a series of semi-spheres in avocado wood interspersed with gold, turquoise and brown beads that end with a piece of golden chain closed with a hook.  
A large "stone" from which hangs a "tusk" of bear shaded from white to yellow, from turquoise to black, concludes the composition.
Being an artisanal artifact, if, on the one hand, the various elements do not have a regular shape and may present imperfections, on the other hand there can never be a jewel identical to this. 


SYMBOLISM

The necklace is dedicated to the Bear whose "spirit" was invoked by the members of the Navajo tribe as a witness in the solemn oaths. Among the other formulas mentioned on some rock inscriptions we can remember: "that the magical storm of the bear devours me if I do not keep the covenant" and "that the spirit of the bear is a witness that I am not guilty".
The main symbolic elements present in the small work of art are:

TRIBAL ETHNIC JEWELRY

The Navajo Bear Necklace is part of a collection of ethnic Jewels and Pendants inspired by the traditions and aesthetics of specific tribes, more or less ancient, from various parts of the world. 
The Project aims to rediscover and enhance the identity and peculiarities of local cultures through the revival and reinterpretation of ethnic jewelry, talismans, amulets to counter the megatrend of communication, of the uprooting/disembedding, of the loss of the memory of the past, triggered and fed by the ideology of globalization.
Within ancient tribal cultures, everything worn, especially during religious ceremonies, was cloaked in an aura of mystery and sacredness. 
Consequently, the jewels, although also having a decorative and ornamental function, first of all, were thought to have deep symbolic and magical values linked to religion and superstition.
To remain faithful to this spirit and since in the realization of ceremonies and magical rituals are fundamental not only the gestures that are performed and the formulas that are pronounced but also the tools that are used, the creation of this mini-sculpture has followed a specific path in tune with the secret rules of the Arcane in order to load it with appropriate energies.
