Rare Antique Victorian Reliquary/Mourning Hair Art, Framed. Reliquary with a weeping willow atop a memorial for a Betsy Oldham and her brother James in 1852. Hand painted flower appliqués adorn the edges of the tomb. The trunk of the willow and the branches are most likely made of hair, while the leaves and top of the tree are made from dark crimson colored rose petals and maiden fern cuttings. Housed in a mahogany frame under glass with a patinated gilt trim on the interior. Loose petals and branches rest in the bottom of the frame. Toning and water stains are present in the bottom corners of the paper. In used condition with scratches on the frame. Refer to photos for details.
