Here we have two King George V 1935 Silver Jubilee domestic first-day covers sent within Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Both are rated 1.5d, with one having a stamp of that value and the other having the 0.5d and 1d stamps. The 1.5d stamp has the cylinder number and is 21 dot. They have minor wear from postal handling and some toning but the dark areas are mainly from light leaking into the scanner and are not on the covers.

The cover has a very neat pen-written address of Robert D. Lyon, 6 Margaret Street, Greenock, Renfrewshire. The notation "First Day Jubilee Stamps" is in the same fine hand, so Mr. Lyon presumably was creating the FDCs for himself. The envelopes are unopened and have contents, which are quite likely stiffeners.

Elusive domestic-rate FDCs at at time when relatively few were done with the good bonus of a cylinder number on the 1.5d stamp.

The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and, after leaving them unchanged for several years, I have raised them slightly in line with the 2023 postage rates. For British buyers the postage will be $2. For lots worth $40 or more I highly recommend the domestic or signed-for tracked service and cannot be responsible for such lots sent by ordinary mail.

As I have some fixed-price items anyone who purchases one of my lots might want to look at them before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates. If you are buying more than one item please wait for me to send an invoice so I can combine postage.

When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item cannot go out until the following Monday.
