A nice clean Preowend 5" Steel bit

if you measure from the inside of one cheek piece to the inside of the cheek piece then the mouth piece will measure more than 5 " Wide.

It will probaly be more like 5-1/2" Wide.

The bit has not been stamped with any lettering.

There is some age related damage and wear on the surface of the metal. The bit did have alot of rust tarnishing/Oxidation on the surface of the metal.

I try to avoid any abrasive material when I clean my horse bits.

The mouth piece looks to be straight, there is like a twist pattern on one side of the Mouthpiece.

The bit has been buffed clean on a very large buffing machine with a good quality polishing compound and a sisel buffing wheel.

There is no  Curb chain fitted to this bit.

I don't know how much this bit has been used.

The bit has a total weight of 618g or 1lb-5oz's

Please be aware that i wipe the finnished bit with a bees wax polish to protect the steel from any moisture in the air that may cause rusting, i would advise giving the bit a wash down to remove the wax where possibly

I don't really think there is to much more to say about this item. It looks nice and probably still has some working life left in it.
