SCIENCE FICTION MONTHLY V2#4

Science Fiction Monthly was a British science fiction magazine published for 28 issues from 1974-1976. The characteristic feature of the magazine was its large page size (apprx. 15-3/4” x 11-1/8”) , roughly equivalent to a newspaper and the fact that it was published as a loose leaf magazine (factory folded in half). This format enabled poster-size reproductions of science fiction illustrations by featured artists to be a major part of the magazine (much of the artwork spreads over two pages and is therefore poster size). The magazine also ran feature articles on artists, reprinted some vintage magazine covers on its large page size, as well as containing sci-fi stories, essays, editorials & news. Very few complete copies of the magazine survived as most issues were taken to pieces and used as posters.

Condition: heavy wear/scuffing/wear thru areas along spine, wear/cross stress creasing along spine, apprx. 1-1/2" cover split at top of spine, apprx. 1/2" cover split at bottom of spine, wear to all edges and corner creases, diagonal crease on surface of front panel (top) thru buzzard's wing, age yellowing of internal pages, a complete issue with nothing cut out or missing, will be shipped in it’s folded-in-half state. Difficult to find this in Collectible shape (if you can find one at all)!

All magazines are packaged with Collectors in mind. They will be individually bagged, and sandwiched between two pieces of over-sized cardboard. This not only helps to prevent magazine edge damage during the shipping phase, but it also helps to prevent folding and rough handling of the magazine(s). This secured package is then put into a cushioned bubble mailer, helping to ensure you will receive your item in the same condition that it leaves my crypt in! A quote for postage cost for combined shipping for multiple purchases is always available. Thanks very much for your interest in my items!
