What is Lucite Jewellery?

Lucite is the queen of diversity, appearing in many forms, colours, and styles in jewellery from the 1940s on, although it was most popular during the '40s and '50s. It is an acrylic resin and one type of thermoset plastic (Bakelite is another, although Bakelite is a phenol formaldehye resin).

Vintage and Antique jewellery is like choosing the perfect piece of art -  a unique creation that represents a period in time, history, and fashion. It is also an individual style sense. A vintage piece of jewellery looks just as appealing paired with sleek modern designs as it does with romantic vintage styles. The reverse, however, is not so true - ultra modern jewellery does not blend as well with the more feminine styles that women often wear.

More than likely, the vintage piece will be custom handmade and perhaps unique to a certain period of history. It would be rare that another piece identical is getting around (unless, of course, it was to be a reproduction). If well looked after, the piece will hold its value - especially if the piece is from a particular period, such as V ictorian, Arts & Crafts, Art Deco, or Art Nouveau. Vintage or antique pieces are distinct versus the typical contemporary modern styles that are worn by everyone
