Methuen & Co, London, 1926

First Edition, First Printing Beautiful near fine book with the scarce original first edition, first state dust jacket. The book is in extraordinary condition considering that many children’s book are usually found “well loved and read”.

The book is clean beautiful condition with crisp green cloth boards, with bright unfaded gilt titles to spine and front. The book has sharp corners and no edgewear, with but a faint slight mark to front board. The binding is tight and square. The end papers are clean and in perfect condition with the common faint offsetting, otherwise with no bookplates, no bookstore stamps and no stains. The internal pages are clean and bright with one neat small owner name on the first blank page, otherwise No handling marks, No stains, No writing, No bent pages and No foxing. Bright gilt to the top of the page block as issued. Beautiful clean, highly collectible example of this title. Please see images.

The scarce original dust jacket has benefited from very slight professional restoration to the outer spine tips and presents in near fine condition. The jacket has strong vibrant colors, with but the common darkening/sunning to the spine, and some intermittent slight toning/soiling. The jacket has no rips, no chips, and no foxing and presents the book beautifully. The jacket is the first state of the first edition showing the requisite 117th thousand to first line of the rear inner flap and the 7/6 Net price to the spine. Please see detailed images.

A handsome copy of this title. Presents very well on the shelf
