Robert Taylor - Moral Support

This print is a reproduction of an original artwork by Robert Taylor and is part of a limited edition of 1500 total.

Robert Taylor captures a typical Battle of Britain scene in which Group Captain Townsend, CO of 85 Squadron, gives guidance and moral support to F/O Marshall, who having collided with, and destroyed an He111 is struggling to get his badly damaged Hurricane back to Debden. Losing height and low over the beautiful Kent countryside, the Hurricane somehow manages to return to base to fight another day. Group Captain Peter Townsend was later appointed equerry to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.

This edition signed by the artist along with distinguished RAF fighter pilot and Battle of Britain Ace:
Group Captain PETER TOWNSEND DSO, DFC*
