Why We Fight: The Roots of War and the Paths to Peace by Christopher Blattman PB

by Christopher Blattman

Christopher Blattman’s “Why We Fight” is a gripping exploration of the motivations that drive human beings to fight one another. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of economics, political science, and psychology, as well as his experiences in places like Liberia and Northern Ireland, Blattman offers deep insights into the logic that underpins war and peace. Whether discussing the actions of dictators, mobs, or football hooligans, Blattman offers a comprehensive analysis of the forces that lead to conflict. In the current global climate, with tensions between countries like Russia and Ukraine and China and Taiwan running high, “Why We Fight” is an essential read for anyone seeking to understand the complexities of international relations. With endorsements from prominent thinkers like Tim Harford, Rory Stewart, and David Miliband, this book is a must-read for anyone interested in the pursuit of peace in our world today.
