Lapidary cut, multi-layered Motor Agate (Fordite) cabochon set in sterling silver. The salvaged and repurposed material set in this piece began as a hunk of cured auto paint, derived from many layers of overspray that was created as a byproduct of the industrial process of spray painting cars!

This piece is a beautiful, medium-domed Type 1 Motor Agate cabochon: Color on color layers with additional primer layers.

This lovely cab has blues, greys, silver, black, whites, and a few thin layers of maroon, red, indigo,. It is set in a hand-fabricated sterling silver, open-backed bezel, that has been given their signature mini-hammered finish.
