Divine Large Victorian Gutta Percha Nude Cherubs & Maiden Picture Frame
This is a beautiful Gutta Percha picture frame made mid 19th Century during the Victorian Era. Of wonderful design, it is decorated with a couple of richly detailed Cherubs holding an elegant reserve surrounded by scrolls, leaves and garland of roses…forming the pierced decoration. To the bottom it shows the face of a young maiden very ornate. The frame has an attractive pierced mount enhanced by original golden details. Its interior has been professionally re-lined with fine cream ‘Moiré’ silk. It has the original back with easel and at the top it is also fitted with the original hanging loop. It has no chips or cracks whatsoever, the frame is in superb condition. It measures 10 1/4” in height by 8” to the widest point; the central opening where the pictures goes is 5 1/8" by 3 5/8"; it weighs 481 grams.
