This listing is for an exquisite free-form stoneware sculpture of Madonna, by French ceramist, Annie Maume (1945-), circa 1970. This piece showcases Maume’s remarkable skill and unparalleled creativity. It measures approximately 14” high x 6.7” diameter. Gently used, with no discernible chips, cracks, breaks or restoration, any production flaws are shown in the photos. It is signed at the base.

Annie Maume is a descendant of a generation of potters from Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye dating back to the 17th century. With her late husband Robert Héraud, painter and ceramist; (1924-2010), they formed a tandem of art. Since Robert’s passing, Annie Maume continues her art work in their workshop at l'Orme-aux-Loups, at the foot of the Sancerre hill, in the region of Centre-Val de Loire, France.
