This sketchbook/journal is handmade from vintage buffalo hide and is coloured with a natural black dye derived from indigo. The edge of the cover is sewn with matching goatskin thong. There is a protective inner flap and a leather tie-strap for closing.

Cover size: 9x9 inches (22.5x22.5cm). Pages are a fraction smaller.

The square format is a special feature of this journal. It is about the same size as A5 vertically, but is substantially wider - to give a better-proportioned page.

It is available with a choice of:
1) unlined handmade cotton paper (100 pages/200 sides)

2) unlined cartridge drawing paper (100 pages/200 sides)

In this version of the journal the cover is finished in black. It is also available in Mahogany Brown.

The paper has been selected for sketching and drawing in a variety of media. If you wish to write with a fountain pen I would recommend you choose cartridge paper.

I love working with leather, but for ethical reasons I only use vintage leather for my books- ie leather from working animals that have come to the end of their lives.
