DESCRIPTION:  Here is an early to mid 19th century Worcester Flight Barr & Barr oblong porcelain pen pray. Decorated to the center with a painted view of Borrowdale, Cumberland with Scafell Pike being it's highest summit, possibly in the picture. Either side of the view it is decorated with the gilt weed pattern and also down the two longest sides having a gilt flower to the center. Each end with gilt decoration and also to the protruding cantered corners being of gothic form. The pen tray is gilt lined to the top rim and to the lower edge. Marked to the base with painted red script View in Borrowdale, Cumberland over Flight Barr & Barr, Royal porcelain works, Worcester London house, 1 Coventry Street. Mark dates it between 1813 to 1840.

SIZE:  The pen tray measures 10 inches at longest point and 2 7/8 inches at widest point. Weighs 292 g before packing.

CONDITION: The pen tray is in good condition with no chip, cracks or restoration. The view has light scratching and flaking as to be expected for age and can only be seen under magnification. One of the feet to one corner has a firing blemish to the glaze as in photo 16. There is a little age related gilt ware to each side of the top rim and minor gilt ware to the corners.
