Lowa heralds a new era of tactical combat boots with the new ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI Black and convinces with a tactical boot of the latest generation. The update of the new Zephyr MK2 includes an optimisation of the basic characteristics such as lightness, agility and stability.
Lowa has managed to combine a breathable goretex membrane, with tear-resistant suede, and an improved ergonomic sole in such a way that the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is once again the everyday companion in wind and weather, for leisure, in the forest, as well as for hard use. The high-quality cold and heat insulating sole complex confirms Lowa's claim to quality.
The interaction of the HI-CUT shaft, the particularly ergonomic sole, as well as the optimised cushioning also qualify the ZEPHYR for hard parachute landings or operations in changing, rough terrain. Even heavyweight operations in high temperatures are no longer a challenge for the ZEPHYR MK2 thanks to the improved moisture management.
A tactical boot must provide maximum slip resistance on oily, wet or scree-heavy surfaces.
To meet this requirement, Lowa has developed the LOWA X-TRAC MILITARY sole. This provides the necessary grip and ensures slip resistance with its special rubber compound.
The central core for a stable footbed is the Zephyr's new insole, which can manage moisture as well as wetness, while supporting prolonged use with the best ergonomic comfort. The insole is made of 9% polyamide and approximately 90% polyurethane. Polyamide provides extra dimensional stability, tear and abrasion resistance and waterproofness, while the polyurethane complements the cushioning properties with a lightweight and functional foam.
On rough terrain, effective cushioning as well as excellent wearing comfort is guaranteed by the injected midsole used by Lowa, made of particularly light foam. Various layers of polyurethane foam padding are moulded into an ergonomic shape and bonded to the upper.
The proverbial "one cast" thus creates a lightweight shoe with above-average cushioning properties: The polyurethane is characterised by a special rebound effect, which is created by its consistency of millions of small bubbles and which infinitely returns to its original shape after heavy use.
