PG Drives Curtiss-Wright R-Net WIFI dongle for power wheelchair programming.

For use on power wheelchairs that have the PG Drives Curtiss-Wright R-Net joystick and controller.

Compatible with many models of wheelchairs primarily manufactured by companies such as: Permobil, Sunrise Medical Quickie, Amy Systems (Amylior), Magic Mobility, ROVI, LEVO, etc.

The dongle plugs in-line between the joystick and controller to allow access to the OBP (On Board Programming).  Depending on the wheelchair, you may have to remove a plastic body shroud to access joystick connection. The OBP allows for programming adjustments made through the joystick. 

The dongle also emits a WIFI signal using it's own unique SSID. Simply connect the dongle to the wheelchair, power on the chair, connect your computer or mobile device to the WIFI signal, open your internet browser to powerchairdotnet, and the programming menu will appear. The software is built-in to the dongle. No additional software or cables required!  

SELLER'S TIP: Works best if you turn-off your home/office WIFI that your computer, or mobile device routinely automatically connects to. You also have to be nearby (<25ft.) this dongle to get the best signal. It may also take more than one attempt for your device to find this dongle's WIFI signal. Be patient using it the first time.

Easy to download and save setting files for backup before you make any changes and upload the parameters. 

Built-in software help menu includes comprehensive 28-page Technical Manual and 93-page Parameters Descriptions Manual in .pdf form.

SELLER'S NOTE: Registration of this programmer is not required to use. It works right out of the box. Curtiss-Wright may not allow registration of this programmer to an end-user. It is possible to register it if you are a "dealer" or "technician". You can call yourself whatever you want, e.g.: "Wheelchair Wizard" "Sally's DME Services", "Mobility Mike", etc.

The Wi-Fi Dongle brings wireless programming to all CW-PGDT R-net powerchair control systems – even those already in the field. The Dongle actually contains a local website that presents a programming interface and a Wi-Fi connection, which means that any device with an internet browser can be used as a programming tool. The Wi-Fi connection is local between the Dongle and a device – no internet connection is required.

It is not necessary to install any App or other software – any device with an internet browser can be used as a programming and diagnostics tool. The connection process from a device to the Dongle is simple and secure; for example, no different to logging-on to a Wi-Fi network in a coffee shop or hotel. Unlike software-only solutions, which require online registration of individual devices, possession of the Dongle provides security against unauthorized programming.

New devices or operating system revisions often mean that installed Apps or software no longer function and themselves need upgrading. Because the CW solution is website based, these concerns are completely removed. Upgrades to the Dongle’s software may be required, however, to support product enhancements or new-model control systems. In this case, upgrades are free of charge and effected via a simple, online process.

Connection of the Dongle to a powerchair is exactly the same as the CW-PGDT existing R-net programming tool, i.e. via the R-net bus. The Dongle can also be powered via its USB connection to allow file management away from a powerchair. In addition, on-board memory means the Dongle can be used to store programming files or other information such as operating instructions.
