Vintage Red Wing Unmarked 1 Gallon Stoneware Bailed Packing Jar with Handle & Lid
Circa - Late 1800s to 1930s

Packing Jars were used to store foods such as preserves, jams, fruits, and butter. Once packed, the lid was given an airtight seal with wax. This 110-year-old example is in great vintage condition with the added character of 2 small chips in the lid edge as well as a manufacturing defect in the inner rim as shown in the photos. The top of the cover is marked with "00" or "OG" as shown in the photos. There is a tight Y hairline that does go through the side and bottom as shown in the photos. The jar displays nicely and would be a welcome addition to any decor.
