About this Set

Visions is a brand of transparent stove top cookware created by Corning France and introduced to Europe during the late 1970s. In 1983, it was introduced in the United States and became the number one selling cookware set for a number of years. Visions is made of a transparent material belonging to the Pyroceram family of glass-ceramics. It is one of the few cookware lines that can be used on the range (gas and electric), in the oven (conventional, convection, and microwave), and under a broiler. It will withstand heat up to 850 °C (1,560 °F) with thermal traits similar to Corning Ware plus improved resistance to staining and the detrimental effects of acids and detergents.

Provenance of this Set

These Visions Cookware pieces have been in my family since their purchase in the 1980’s.  Twin Brother and I were each given a set of Corning Visions Cookware as either Christmas or Birthday presents.  Another set was found in my Mother’s attic when I inherited her home when she passed.  The pieces of this set are taken from two of the 3 sets.  Each piece in this set is the best of those two sets(Really).  Some appear to have never been used.  There are NO chips, scratches or any other apparent defects.

Although I have an Induction cooktop, I will never sell the second set as I still have an electric oven and you can use an “interposer” for non-conductive cookware on an induction cooktop.  I just don’t need two of everything.  In short, I enjoy cooking, and the set I am keeping will always be used when necessary.  Think acidic foods that my extensive collection of Cast Iron Cookware isn’t appropriate.

Packaging and Shipping

The items in this set will be expertly packaged by an individual(me) that has years of experience packing delicate Medical Instruments for shipment to customers.  We subscribe to the caveat:  If it Shakes, it Breaks.  We will not scrimp on packing materials such as foam, bubble wrap and double boxing.  Items will arrive unbroken.
