THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION A potentiometer usually consists of a resistive body and a movable brush. When the brush moves along the resistor body, the resistance value or voltage that has a certain relationship with the displacement is obtained at the output end. Potentiometers can be used as both three-terminal components and two-terminal components. Because its function in the circuit is to obtain an output voltage that has a certain relationship with the input voltage (applied voltage), it is called a potentiometer. 1. Used as a voltage divider A potentiometer is a continuously adjustable resistor. When the handle or slider of the potentiometer is adjusted, the movable contact slides on the resistor body. 2. Used as a varistor When the potentiometer is used as a varistor, it should be connected as a device at both ends to obtain a smooth and continuously changing resistance value. 3. Used as a current controller When a potentiometer is used as a current controller, one of the selected current outputs must be a sliding contact terminal.
