Set of A2 / 304 Stainless allen bolts and washers to replace standard fasteners for the upper and lower cam belt / timing belt covers on Mazda’s MKI & II MX-5. The kit also has bolts for the thermostat housing to complete the upgrade while you’re there.

The kit was taken from our own NB 1.8 non-VVC car. We have not yet tried it on the other flavours of MKI & II engine yet but would expect it’ll fit the 1.6 anyway. The 1.8 VVC as found in the facelift NB might be different. If you buy this kit for a 1.6 or 1.8 VVC and find it isn’t right, you can return it to us we’ll refund you in full.

Please note this will not fit the MKIII MX-5.

Why change swap to these stainless fasteners? Stainless never rusts. Factories use cheap fasteners which will do the job at the lowest reasonable price. Hence, over time they corrode / rust / generally begin to look a bit rubbish - which is a shame when the rest of the MX-5 is such a character-packed little roadster. These high quality replacements will never rust, so can maintain their top-spec look for as long as you want them to.
