So these tail lamps started their life on a military truck a long time ago, they were the black-out lamps with very slight openings/slots for emitting light. I cut open a lot of the slot material to open up/increase the light emitting capability. I then purchased brand new Ford Model A tail light lenses and bezels since their diameter was so compatible, and they completely cover the area I cut out. I had to grind down the sides of the Model A metal bezels to fit properly, to clamp down the glass lens and cork gaskets properly/snuggly.   All of the 24 volt military guts were removed, new light bulb sockets were installed, new 12 volt #1157 bulbs were installed, now the lamps can be used for "running lights/braking lights/turn signals" all in a single 1157 bulb- - -easy deal. For curb appeal I gave the housings a fresh olive paint job, then installed stainless steel Allen head screws to lock in the top housing to the bottom housing. Sooooo, who wants righteous military tail lamps- - -Guys with Trucks, Jeeps, and Landcruisers, that's who !!!!!!!
