Viking has been manufacturing and supplying metal detection equipment to the water industry and other major utilities since the 1970s.

The WASP box locator has become an industry-standard metal detector within the water industry. This detector is simple to use with just two controls, Fine and Coarse tuning. It provides good depth penetration and rugged reliability and is economically priced at half the cost of anything comparable.

These features, along with its distinctive and highly visible yellow and black colouring, are why it has established itself so successfully within the industry.

The Viking WASP metal detector is a TR detector with two controls, one on/off with fine-tuning and the other offering coarse tuning. It can pick up most metals. This detector is ideal for detecting manhole covers and stopcock boxes that have been covered by earth or tarmac. Other objects could be steel reinforcement rods in concrete road surfaces, metal pipes, valve heads, or buried fuel tanks. The Viking Wasp is a favourite with the Water industry when searching for hidden manhole covers.

Please note that as we use a secure, signed-for courier service, someone must be present to sign for delivery. We cannot pass instructions to leave with a neighbour or secure place.
