Early 20th Century hand Embroidered tablecloth and 12 napkins set, originating in Chefoo Shanghai, School of Embroidery China, Missionary based learning. Pre war c1920

A fine example of hand embroidery in Richelieu surface embroidery of bar work, needlelace inserts and elaborate cutwork decoration in antique silver thread worked to a deep border and Centre display with a plain ground to the centre, finished to the scollop edge with a blanket stitch. included in the sale are 12 unused as new dinner napkins at 17” square with matching rose petals and leaf sprays.

Condition, excellent probably unused tablecloth and napkins set stored in the original folds and wrapped for protection, no soils or damage, I have looked carefully at the cloth and find no issues, the napkins were not wrapped but loose within the lot of linen offered up.. these will need a good soak pre launder is intended for use with the cloth.
