Sizing Guide:

To size, measure perimeter at the height of the MP joint. (see sizing chart)

Small: 6-/1/4" to 7-1/2" (16 to 19cm)

Medium: 7-1/2" to 9" (19 to 23cm)

Large: 9" to 10-1/4" (23 to 26cm)

• Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles of all fingers, excluding the thumb.

Before applying BSOS CMC Thumb Brace to your hand:

• This brace can be worn with or without our comfortable CMC undersleeves... available separately at our office. 
• Gently bend metal insert slightly outward. 
• Place CMC Thumb Brace over your thumb as far down as possible. 
• Gently, but firmly, close the back strap nearest the wrist, then do the same with the other straps.  Do not over tighten
• Touch the forefinger to the thumb to make a gentle “O” shape.
• Keep the thumb muscles relaxed
• With the thumb and forefinger in an “O” shape,
•  APPLY PRESSURE to the metal insert… adjusting it to a snug fit around the muscles at the base of the thumb (the thenar eminence).

L3923 - Custom Fitted (hand finger orthosis, without joints, may include soft interface, straps, prefabricated item that has been trimmed, bent, molded, assembled, or otherwise customized to fit a specific patient by an individual with expertise). This code should be used by medical professionals fitting and submitting a claim to the insurer. Note: The CG modifier must be used with this code to be reimbursed by Medicare: Read the PDAC article on the use of CG modifier.

L3924 - Off the Shelf (hand finger orthosis, without joints, may include soft interface, straps, prefabricated, off-the-shelf). This code should be used by individuals who have paid for their CMC brace and are seeking insurance reimbursement.
