Attractive, antique interior door salvaged from an old, home in
Scranton, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine,
and has 5 raised panels on both sides. The door is
stained on both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft
wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have
the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities
that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also
much harder and stronger than young pine.
Hardware: The
door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good
selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our store).

Uneven Height:
The height of the door was unevenly cut by 7/8". The cut was most
likely to accommodate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the
door to an even height, build it up to be taller/wider, or even trim it to be
narrower/shorter--message

Condition: Considering the door is well over 100 years old, it is strong,
sturdy and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but
no
broken or cracked joints, gouges, warp or any other serious issues.
Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and
whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks".
Swing:
The door is set up to swing into a room towards the right or away
from the room towards the left. We could modify the door to swing in the
opposite direction--message
us for a quote.
Modification:
We could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your
needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or
width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swings, plug the
hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what
you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
