This listing is for an exquisite piece of French finery in the form of an aesthetic porcelain lobed bowl in deep blue, known as 'of Sèvres'. It is enriched in its center with a large transverse frieze formed of inlays of particularly fine golden threads and enamel decorations.; circa 1870. The white enamel is also found in the petals of the flowers drawn on either side of this frieze. The bowl features a scalloped edge. Can certainly work with or without flowers; or a stand alone as a work of art. Beautiful but not perfect. Gilt now faded in places from 150-plus years of history. Repairs to the upper interior rim and an exterior hairline have been made and can be improved. Still gorgeous, this seldom found piece measures about 3” high x 7.5” diameter x 4.75” depth.
