About Us

Jean Weiner grew up loving nature from an early age. Her realistic, detailed, watercolor paintings typically carry a theme of nature and wildlife, something that inspires her and speaks to her heart. She majored in biology while at Augustana College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to receive her Master of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin. She worked as a biomedical engineer/operations manager for a medical device company until she and her husband started their family. She considers herself fortunate that she could be a stay home mom with her children. After a battle with cancer, Jean picked up her brushes again ending a 25-year hiatus from painting. She holds signature membership with National Watercolor Society (NWS), Watercolor West (WW), Watercolor USA's Watercolor Honor Society (WHS), Southern Watercolor Society (SW) and Iowa Watercolor Society (IWS). She exhibits, competes, and sells her art nationally, and has won numerous awards. She has been commissioned to do a number of paintings for private collections. Jean teaches watercolor classes and also conducts watercolor workshops.
