It is in Very Good condition with some gentle overall wear; on three pages, there is a word-or-two underlined and an accompanying brief margin note. There are over 50 halftone photographs of varying size and in Fine condition; the full-page photographs are blank on the reverse. Folding map of Russian railroads and original folding map of Asia are present and in good condition.The author traveled "...through Georgia, Armenia, Persia, Turkomania, and Turkestan, to the Vale of Paradise". The book's top page edge is gilt, the frontispiece tissue guard is present. There is no former-owner's bookplate inside, no foxing. The binding is firm and there are no loose pages.
