This is a Real Photo Postcard (RPPC), a very popular item in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Often taken with a person’s own camera or by a traveling photographer, the image would then be printed on card stock with a postcard format on the back, which could then be mailed. These pictures are highly collectible.
