These genuine LUK bearings are the correct replacement part for the worn or damaged spigot bearing in the end of the crankshaft on the 2.4 and 2.2 TDCI Defender engine. These roller bearings support the input shaft for the MT82 gearbox, through the clutch and flywheel into the end of the crank.

We recommend using an internal bearing puller to remove the old bearing. Take care not to damage the sealing edge when installing the new bearing. Make sure the gearbox goes back perfectly inline when reinstalling as we have seen the input shaft catch the edge of the roller bearings, pushing them out and jamming the bearing up. This causes premature damage to the bearing and to the end of the gearbox input shaft.
