Slightly coloured Daguerreotype of

Sir Robert Cavendish Spencer (1791-1830). English officer Royal Navy. Served in the Mediterranean, North and South American. He took part in operations against New Orleans and Algiers in 1824. 

A framed, coloured daguerreotype of -probably- a painting of him.

Identified in ink on the back (see photos).


Sized approx. 2,7 x 2,2 inches / 7 x 5,5 cm. (visible part of dag within frame).
Frame is sized approx. 5 x 4,5 inches / 13 x 11,5 cm.

In fair/good condition – with a tiny chip of glass near his collar and with slight wear of frame.
Paper backing with tears as visible in photos.

ORIGINAL is a bit brighter toned.
