Fir Needle Oil is steam distilled from the needles of the Silver Fir, Abies alba, a tall, majestic evergreen that is indigenous to Europe.

Abies balsamea, A. grandis, A. koreana, A. siberica, A. sachalinensis and A. alba

young shoots and needles, sometimes cones; steam-distilled essential oils.

Odour: generally, fir essential oils have fresh, typically coniferous, pine-like scents,

sometimes with a lemony aspect, and lacking the resinous base notes of the pines

and junipers; there are subtle differnces – for example, Silver fir is sweet and rich, with balsamic notes.

Constituents: varies according to species; typical constituents are α- and β-pinene,

bornyl acetate, camphene, d-limonene, β-myrcene, δ-3-carene and β-phellandrene.

Silver fir: bornyl acetate (30%), camphene (20%), δ-3-carene (14%), tricyclene

(13%), d-limonene (7.5%), and α-pinene, β-caryophyllene, β-phellandrene

and α-terpinene as minor constituents, present at 1.0–5.0%.

Care: ALWAYS dilute prior to use for skincare. Typically 0.1-2% in desired carrier oil.
