This pipe or electronic low-voltage console switch could be used for any number of applications such as turning the blower and/or power supply on and off (via a relay), locking the solid-state memory, or even switching on the console lights. It is in good working condition though it is in need of lubrication, as the key is difficult to remove. It is likely in the previous installation the key was left in the switch for the entirety of its service life. Because the rest of the console was equipped with solid-state relay and combination action components by Peterson Electro-Musical Products and Peterson supplies this type of switch, it is likely this is a Peterson switch but it is not labeled as such.
