Very desirable color, these are getting harder and harder to find. No cracks, no damage, no repairs. Great patina, fibrous look to these. A little shadowing on the seats common with age and to the lemon yellows and parchments.
I have original x bases available for these - if you want the bases, let me know.

The price is for the pair. If you only want 1, please message me. Local pickup is great. I am near Chicago. Happy to ship International!

I have accumulated quite a few of the 1st generation chairs. Message me if you are looking for another color. I have 5 of the 6 original colors (not red orange/salmon) available. Check back to my listings as I will be putting them for sale.

Something to note:

The 1st Generations chairs were first produced in1950 to 1954. The first generation arm shell was produced at the ZenithPlastics factory in Gardena, California. They were available initially in 3colors with 3 more colors being added after the first run – Elephant Grey, RedOrange, Lemon Yellow, Greige, Parchment and Sea Foam Green. The features thatstood out include the checkerboard label and the half checkerboard label (usedwhen the factory ran out of checkered labels), the rope edge around the backedge of the shell and the large shock mounts. I currently am offering for sale 5 of the 6 original colors to start your collection!

Something to think about:

These chairs are harder and harder to come by now. Hard toimagine that a lot of these got thrown away and also damaged. They are already 70years old! To invest in a set of the original 6 colors could be a good investment.Imagine the value of these when Herman Miller turns 100 years old in 2050 –which is not that far away. Thanks for reading!
