Large Coiled Basket with Dancing Yei Figures by Noted Navajo Artist Bessie Holiday.

 This large used coiled basket features 5 polychrome dancing Yei figures, each holding an over-stitched lightning bolt or cedar branch. It also has a black arrowhead pointing to the spirit release spirit release and 18 black "mountain peaks" resting on 2 red coils near the rim. It measures approximately 16 3/4" in diameter x 2 1/2" deep. This basket is in excellent condition and the rim has a herringbone finish. 

We purchased this basket from a retired attorney who worked for the Dine Nation in Monument Valley and who bought it directly from Bessie.
