The Livemix CS-SOLO from Digital Audio Labs is the most feature-rich personal monitor mixer on the market. You get 24 channels plus accessory channels, all with EQ and compression. The LCD touchscreen with custom mix naming makes short work of creating unique mixes, and the CS-SOLO's dedicated knobs provide quick access to essential features. Plus you can link two CS-SOLO units to a single port on your Livemix Mix-16 or Mix-32 to send power and audio to the second unit — and to access the second channel on a given Mix-16/-32 RJ45 port. And you won't have to search for an aux input or headphone jack, either, since the Livemix CS-SOLO headphone out, USB, and aux-in ports are handily located on the CS-SOLO's front panel.
The Digital Audio Labs Livemix CS-SOLO's large, easy-to-read LCD screen gives you quick, intuitive access to your mix names, channel volume, effects, group settings, and remote mixing. It's easy to give each mix its own name, select effects on-screen, modify their settings, and save everything for the next session. And since the screen employs resistive rather than capacitive technology, you can make your selections with your fingertip — or grab a stylus or other blunt, narrow object for more precise screen interface.
The Digital Audio Labs Livemix CS-SOLO provides 24 channels plus accessory channels, each with EQ and compression. Up front, the master volume knob lets you quickly access master EQ, compression, and reverb, and you can pan and change the volume with just a few clicks and turns of the Adjust Vol & Pan knob. On the right side of the front panel is a high-value control called the "Me" group knob. You can easily use the Me knob to change settings such as vocal and/or instrument levels, effects levels, and more on the channels assigned to your Me group. You can create up to four more groups with their own settings via the touchscreen interface, but as most Sweetwater customers will be using the CS-SOLO for personal monitoring as well, the dedicated Me knob really comes in handy, offering easy, up-front access to deeper-level personal mix settings.
With MirrorMix, any CS-SOLO in your system can connect remotely to another unit to hear and provide input on the mix for those channels — giving help immediately when needed. This and the Intercom button for communicating with the whole band are two more features that make the Livemix system appropriate for both professionals and volunteers. The Intercom transduces ambient noise — including communications between members of your band — via a built-in mic on the front panel and another one on the rear panel. The mics give you a true sonic image of the ambient noise around you, and you can also easily speak with others onstage without the audience listening in.
The front panel of the CS-SOLO contains the headphone out, USB, and aux-in ports. They're easily visible, so you can make quick connections with those cables. Distribution module and remote mixing connections are also a snap with the CS Port Thru and CS Port In data cable ports on the rear panel. The RJ45 port allows you to forgo multiple (potentially noisy) long, unbalanced cable runs in favor of a single, virtually noiseless Cat 5 or Cat 6 cable.
