READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH, PLEASE. This Nikon Reflex-Nikkor lens, a 50cm (500mm) f5 is a rarity as there were only 711 made in this particular design.  Manufacturing for this design started in September of 1961 and ended in 1963. The serial number, 171054, places this lens as likely made in 1962.  The beauty of the reflex lens design was the compactness versus the giant lenses of the day.  The f8 version was somewhat smaller and much more common but the wider aperture of this lens (more than an additional stop) and the fact that only 711 were ever made makes this much more desirable. In addition, this lens has a very special feature; IT HAS BEEN ADAPTED TO FIT CANON EF MOUNT CAMERAS.  f5 AND Canon EF mount? Very Cool.
The lens includes a Nikon L39 rear-mounted filter (a filter must be in place) and a rear lens cap.  The lens mount rotates 90 degrees to accommodate both horizontal and vertical shooting while tripod mounted (recommended). The focus is very smooth.  There is a little play in the lens mount but it does not seem to affect performance. There is no front cap, sorry. There are marks and some blemishes but no damage.  The optics appear pretty nice with some minor imperfections.
