Stunning Antique Silver Plated Inkstand Inkwells Desk Set c.1890

A wonderful and very ornate desk set. Believed to either be English or French made. Made from silverplate, the underside reveals a solid Iron base, creating a solid and hefty piece. The base is beautifully decorated with intricate filigree work, surrounding roundels each featuring a different portrait. The solid crystal inkwells are topped with hinged lids, with complimentary filigree work, as does the central cylindrical box to store pen nibs, sealing wax and similar desktop items. Each side has a pair of pen rest cradles. A superb, unusual desk-top accessory dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890. Measuring 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" foot to foot. Paperwork with antique declaration is included. This item was imported from Europe in 2012. Held in a private collection for over a decade.
