Victorian mahogany and brass 3-draw brass And mahogany

a very nice example of an early 19th Century English spyglass or telescope. As you can see from the engraving on this piece, it was made by G (George) Richardson of London and is a Day or Night scope. A Google search revealed that Mr. Richardson was an optical and mathematical instrument maker in London around 1807-1830. This particular piece is a 3 stage scope or spyglass with, what I believe is referred to as a sun shade at the end. When closed, this piece measures approximately 11 1/4" and when fully extended, it measures approximately 37 3/4." I believe that this spyglass is made of brass and mahogany. I would say that it is in good condition for being approximately 200 years old,

Measures 90cm when completely open looks great
