This is an Antique Adjustable ' Beethoven' Piano Chair from the early 20thC.

The previous owner of this chair has stated that it was originally in use at Wigmore Hall which was built by the Bechstein Company and opened in 1901.

The chair is constructed in solid hardwood throughout (Mahogany species) and has an ebonised finish. The seat is woven in split cane. The brass height adjustment lever is at the rear of the seat, the mechanism is very smooth and gives easy adjustment over 11 centimetres in 1 cm increments.

Condition, is good, the chair is clean and strong, all joints are tight, original finish and patination. The adjustment mechanism is in good working order. The woven cane seat panel is relatively new.

A most servicable antique chair with a good period style.
