I have here for sale a BEAUTIFULLY BOUND book entitled MEMOIRS OF THE MARTYR KING BEING A DETAILED RECORD OF THE LAST TWO YEARS OF THE REIGN OF HIS MOST SACRED MAJESTY KING CHARLES THE FIRST (1646-1648/9) by ALLAN FEA. This FIRST EDITION book was published in 1905 by JOHN LANE, BODLEY HEAD, London and New York and is number  154 of four hundred, of which 325 copies will be sold in London and New York, signed by the author. With deep rich coloured frontispiece of King Charles I and many illustrations over the 78 tissue guarded .  "In editing the Memoirs of those who were closely associated with the latter days of the Martyr King, I have endeavored to enhance their interest by making a complete pictorial record of the various actors and scenes described; and secondly, to make them them clearer by prefixing a short itinerary or diary of the King's movements from April 27, 1646 until the final scene at Whitehall, thus fixing dates where they are often missing in the Memoirs themselves."

Bound in beautifully tooled leather boards with gilt decoration and Royal Crest. Matching gilt endpapers. Rough cut page edges, gilt top fore-edges.  Housed in its original slipcase.

Spine is a little worn and cracks to front and back edges. Board edges rubbed and corners bumped. Boards are beginning to pull. Slip case a little worn around the edges with loss of small parts of the cover. The odd light spotting - nothing significant, the pages are clean and bright. This book is in very good condition, tightly bound with no loose or missing pages xxi, 278pp 34cm x 28cm.

Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped. 

To keep the cost of the postage down to the most economical level per book, you may consider buying more than 1 item from my eBay account. You can then request a combined postage cost and I will combine the items into the fewest parcels as possible - saving you money :)
