This is a super ceramic item for any Bonzo dog collector ! It seems to have been created with Christmas in mind, there being three modelled holly leaves to the front of the piece. Bonzo’s head and front paws appear in the top of the item, which perhaps represents a champagne glass and may have been created using an old ceramic candlestick. Hand painted on the base are the words “One too many” by R. Ifeild ?? – the letters of the surname are difficult to read. (see fifth photograph)

A bit of a mystery item, but attractive.

The ceramic “candlestick” part appears to have suffered some damage around its base, now partly covered with modelled “bubbles”.

The piece is not perfect with quite a lot of crazing to the glaze – but perhaps represents someone’s ingenuity.

The base of the candlestick part has the printed words “Imperial T.F. & 8 England,

The piece stands about 4.7 inches (12 cm) in height, with a base diameter of about 4.5 inches (11.5 cm).
