Edwardian 14K Gold & 2 1/2 Cts Mine Diamonds Miniature Enamel Painting Brooch & Pendant

An exceptional solid 14K yellow gold & 2 1/2 Carats of Old Mine Diamonds hand made Edwardian Swiss Miniature landscape pin depicting a Summer Garden & Stream Scene.

Dating to the 1910's this mint condition brooch is a rare example of fine Swiss Enamel Painted Jewelry at the time. Inside a highly ornate hand made solid 14K yellow gold frame is set a miniature of exceptionally beautiful and detailed landscape which has been painted with fine multi-color enamels. To do this involves countless firings as each new layer of enamel is applied. It is almost impossible to see the brushstrokes in the miniature as it is so fine. The 14K Gold Frame which holds the miniature painting is highlighted by two (2) Roman Corinthian Pillars each with a Globe on top...Surrounding the pendant / brooch are 19 (Nineteen) round old mine cut natural diamonds each collet bezel set ranging in size from 0.50 to 0.12 Carat each in size with total diamond weight of approximately 2 1/2 Carats...These 19 old round diamonds average white & clear..
