 You are looking at a desirable older used male 4 pin microphone cable connector from the 1960's - 70's. These vintage 4 pin model connectors were commonly used on Shure, Ampex, DuKane microphones and Electro Voice models as well as several others. Many older mics were generally 3 and 4 pin screw on type models that had a completely different style of mics today.

 You'll see in pic # 2 this type of connector in an old E.V catalog.

 This connector has a unique design that was similar to the Amphenol 4 pin connector. It's the same overall concept but as you can see there are just 3 pins instead of 4 because the active / live pin could be moved to either high impedance or low impedance depending on the mic or users needs.

 To access the arrangement the chrome cover is slid backwards exposing the plastic housing. The plastic housing divides giving you access to al 3 pins. It's a very clever design but as you can see the connector will ne to be soldered to a new cable of choice.

 This will work with the Shure 545, 545S, 565, 565S, Electro Voice 664, 644, late model 630 & 636 to name a few.

 As you can see in the pics provided this connector is in very good used condition with very lite cosmetic wear. 

 This connector will require soldering and it's a bit tricky so if you have those skills then this will do you justice. If you don't have the experience or ability to solder then I would suggest saving yourself the time and headache by simply buying a complete cable.

 It's reasonably priced and will do anybody justice who needs one.
