The converter provides you with the freedom to use any ink you prefer, as long as it's suitable for fountain pens (not dip pens). In the realm of calligraphy, these nibs would fall under the category of "broad italic" and are available in three sizes: 1.6mm(2B), 1.1mm(Medium), and 0.85mm(Fine). They likely offer minimal flex, which is one less concern for beginners. However, these nibs are versatile enough to accommodate various calligraphic scripts.

I've included with this set a Fountain Pen Ink Syringe Filler, equipped with a Spring Converter and a Removable Blunt Needle Tip.

With this handy tool, you can easily refill your empty cartridges with fresh ink, offering you a plethora of options to experiment with—assuming you have a penchant for acquiring different colored inks. If you're fortunate, you may even be able to remove the needle and attach it directly to the pen, but only if it's compatible. I believe these fillers adhere to the International Standard Size.
